Survivors' Poetry

Survivors' Poetry exists to give a voice to survivors of the mental health system through workshops, performances, and publications of poetry. It aims to support survivors in the development of their creativity through poetry.

All activities at Survivor's Poetry are run by survivors. A survivor may be a person with a current or past experience of psychiatric hospitals, ECT, tranquillisers or other medication, a user of counselling services, a survivor of sexual abuse, child abuse and any other person who experiences mental distress. SP welcomes those who have empathy with the experiences of survivors.

For survivors and those who empathise to come along and watch, share, perform, their main London events include an open mic reading with a supportive environment at the Poetry Cafe, 22 Betterton Street, Covent Garden, on the second Thursday of each month at 8pm.

Also, the fourth Thursday, from 8pm, every month sees the regular free event at Tottenham Chances, 399 the High Road, Tottenham. N17 6QN.
