BEST

BEST supports Westminster residents who have mental health difficulties and are not confident enough to volunteer on their own.

They accept self-referrals or referrals from support workers.

Volunteering means different things to different people. For some it is an opportunity to pursue an interest, meet new people and help their local community. For others it is a chance to gain valuable work experience without affecting their benefits. In Westminster there are thousands of opportunities to choose from.

Staff members at BEST work with each volunteer to meet his or her individual needs. This can range from help with finding opportunities, filling in application forms and attending appointments or just being on the end of a phone for advice. They also provide ongoing support to volunteers and organisations once people have begun volunteering.

The organisation helps anyone with a mental health issue to volunteer -volunteers need to live in Westminster.

The service is run by Brent wansworth & Westminster Mind
